We have two files: one is standard, and the other is an ISO file. The ISO file can easily be flashed onto a USB stick using Etcher on Windows, Linux, or an Apple Mac. For the standard file, you need to follow a series of steps as described below. However, some people find it challenging to make it work. So, we've come up with an alternative solution. If you're struggling, using the ISO file and flashing it with ETCHER might be easier. You can find a guide for the ISO file at this link below:

Arcana Firmware Update

To update the firmware of your Arcana device, follow these clear and simple steps:

1. USB UPDATE:

- Insert a USB stick with the firmware update file into Arcana's USB port.

- Arcana will automatically detect the update and prompt for update confirmation.

- Select "YES" or "NO" to proceed with the update.

2. UPDATING ARCANA:

- A progress message will be displayed during the update process.

- Wait until the operation is completed.

3. UPDATE COMPLETED:

- Once the update is finished, you need to power cycle the unit by disconnecting and reconnecting the USB power cord.

- After reconnecting the power, wait for 15 seconds until the OLED display turns back on.

4. NO UPDATE FILE FOUND:

- If you attempt to force an update from the FW/RESET sub-menu, and there is no update file detected on the USB stick, you will see a "no update file found" message.

To ensure a smooth update process, make sure to follow these guidelines:

- Download the Arcana Firmware package in .zip format from the Arcana product page and extract it to obtain the arcanafw.bin file.

- Copy the arcanafw.bin file to the root directory of a FAT32 formatted USB stick.

- We recommend using USB sticks with smaller capacities (2/4/8/16/32/64/128/256GB) from brands like Sandisk, as they have been tested to work reliably. Larger capacity sticks may require dummy files to be present.

- If you are a MAC user, macOS might show an error message when trying to expand the .BIN file. You can safely discard this error.

Important notes:

- Make an extra power cycle after updating the firmware if you updated the unit "in-system" with all cables attached. Disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cord or power cycle the unit once more.

- If you encounter any issues with a USB stick, ensure that it is formatted as the primary partition. For advanced users, you can follow the instructions within Windows to fix any USB stick issues using the "diskpart" tool.

Please note that third-party and custom firmware providing extra features are not covered in this manual.
